Told my phone to play my favorite music. RATM’s “Bullet In The Head” came on and I am not sure their music could be any more appropriate than right now

If you schedule a noon meeting and you don’t have a different time zone to blame, you’re a special kind of asshole

Having to be in the office for the first time in ~10yrs is a struggle. Headphones coming in clutch. But..

Do you have any idea how difficult it is to NOT sing the line “never trust a big butt and a smile” out loud?

For my fellow olds

It’s funny to me how folks who were mad at the government for grocery prices 6mo ago are now mad at corporations for grocery prices.

I think the most dangerous phrase in the English language is, “there oughta be a law”

But..

There oughta be a law - singing “la da da da da” to any AI assistant means it responds with “it’s the MF’ing D-O-double-G”

Just saying, I’d be in favor of a law that makes life a little more fun for once

Just learned about changes to Founders Card and a benefit I signed up for being replaced. I’m not sure it’s worth it to me now…

I miss the old days of the internet where you could just surf from site to site, be entertained or educated and not be bombarded by ads or paywalls. I get folks need to earn a living, but it’s just too off putting to enjoy it now

Waking up still feeling like this…
a video game screen shows a bird flying in the air with the words hit and shot below it

Georgia can lose this game, win the SEC championship and wind up getting a playoff bye with THREE losses. I understand rewarding a team for winning a conference, but that just feels wrong

IMO, the TV edit of Christmas Vacation is almost unwatchable. So many iconic lines “cleaned up” and lose their punch

Wish more of the poker and Vegas folks I followed on the other thing were here…

I’m confused about pundits saying Ohio State didn’t blow out Indiana. 3 scores (granted one with 30s left) and holding them to ~150yds total offense? How is that not dominating?

Holy shit y’all. Been “back” here like 20min and already seeing political “conversations” (aka bickering). Such a monumental waste of calories.

There’s no reason to engage - nobody’s changing anybody’s mind on social media. You’re just stirring shit whether you intend to or not.

Checking in here for the first time in…quite some time. I’m kinda hoping some of the folks I used to follow on the other thing moved over

There isn’t much I hate more waiting. Especially when that waiting is needlessly extended because of others.

wife - "we are officially old...our youngest is 21"

me - "I thought we were officially old when they announced who was going to be on SNL and we said, 'who?'"

You're much more likely to get coffee out of the machine if you turn it on

How's your day going so far?

One of those days where I made progress on a couple things but didn’t actually get anything done…

Well…Christmas is over, football is over (for me)

Ready for spring now

My neighbor is on the local school board. He seems quite proud that they're teaching kids cursive. I don't get it. Why is that important when people think the below is correct?

I Love You and your since of hummer

I guess so long as it's in cursive it doesn't matter if it's gibberish

I'm starting a #2024wishlist of things that I hope the new year will bring us (but I know it won't):

The end of articles explaining that X used to be called Twitter. We know, already. You can just say "on the social media platform X" without adding "(formerly Twitter)".

We're adjusting to being empty nesters...I think last night was the start of a new tradition for the wife and me. Chinese food (or hibachi because that's what was open at the time), Violent Night, exchange our gifts and prep for the boys to be here Christas day

That feeling when you’re cleaning your garage and find a bench grinder you thought you left at your old house when you sold it
