There’s been a bonded pair of great horned owls at my local trail for the past several weeks. Recently, I finally got to see one for an extended period of time and got much more than I ever expected #owl #birds #wildlife
Great horned owl standing tall on a branch, calling to its mate in the distance. I’d been hearing them in the same spots every day for weeks The owl hears something and perks up A new owl that I hadn’t seen before dives in, lands on the owl I’d been watching, screeches, and flies off into the distance. Must’ve lasted less than a second. Unfortunately, this photo is fairly blurry as my camera is not great with fast motion, especially in the darker hours. Still very happy to have witnessed this though! The owl goes back to calling back and forth with its mate
