Back in July I made this birthday card for a family member and I looked up Gillette to get the wording and the font of the slogan absolutely spot on, as you can probably tell… I was surprised to learn the slogan was still in use.
A birthday card made from a folded piece of card and a photo of courgettes arranged to look like the top half of a smiling man, with his triumphant arms above his head holding the number 6 in his right hand and a 0 in his left. It's all made from yellow courgettes, except his torso, his mouth and the numbers, which are made from green courgettes. And his eyes are made from split black beans. And there's a sunflower in the top left corner. Beneath the photo is written, "Courgette©", and beneath that, "The Best a Man Can Get™".

Well done! Oh, but what about the mystery pin 10?
A piece of plain A4 paper folded in half twice. Written in pencil is a sort of table, consisting of three columns, listing the possible functions of the pins on the Raspberry Pi 500+'s FPC cable, which connects the keyboard to the motherboard. One of these pins is labelled 'MYSTERY PIN 10'.

An Atmel ATMega8L microcontroller on a rectangular-shaped piece of stripboard with a few components including a voltage regulator, a red LED, capacitors, resistors, pin headers, wires and last, but not least, a USB Type B socket. Oh, and a label with some evidence of having been written on, but the ink has faded and it's now illegible.

@solder.party, I finally got around to soldering some FlexyPins. Before possibly messing up the RP2xxx Stamp Carrier Basic, I thought I'd practise on the smaller Pico Adapter. Just as well - I forgot the debug FlexyPins and thought "I've got the hang of these, 3 won't take me any time at all." and…
A mostly-assembled SolderParty FlexyPin Raspberry Pi Pico Adapter housing a Raspberry Pi Pico and plugged into a green mini breadboard. Coloured wires connect this mini breadboard to a white mini breadboard. The Adapter is resting on its labelled anti-static bag, and to its left is an unopened labelled anti-static bag containing a SolderParty RP2xxx Stamp Carrier Basic.

Thanks for that - very neat. And I've worked out a way of connecting a DVI Sock without obscuring the Pico LiPo 2 XL's extra pins… sort of.
A Pimoroni Pico LiPo 2 XL W inserted into the Pico socket of A Pimoroni Pico Decker (Quad Expander) with a DVI Sock attached upside down to the expansion pins immediately to the left of the Pico socket. Twenty of the Pico LiPo's pins are suspended over the bottom edge of the Pico socket as the Pico Lipo has 60 pins, whereas a standard Raspberry Pi Pico (2) has 40. There are also at least 4 USB cables, an RPi Debug Probe, an RPI Pico, a VGA cable, an HDMI cable and a mouse mat all arranged haphazardly around the Pico Decker.

Here's a courgette - I'm very proud of it… Oh yeah, and my Pimoroni Pico Jumbo (for scale) and a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 (for scale and on sale) - and some coins (for scale). Oh, and a broken set of scales (for scale).
A big yellow courgette balanced on a set of kitchen scales to the left of the real star of the show, a Pico Jumbo, which is a twelve times scale working model of a Raspberry Pi Pico 2. To the Jumbo's right is a real Pico 2, and beneath that a one penny piece and a fifty pence piece. Just below the Jumbo is a stand for it, with the text, 'Pico Stand. This small PCB acts as both a stand for your Jumbo or a backscratcher for a hamster. Use wisely.'. The Jumbo is resting on a Pimoroni circuit board labelled 'WHAT THE FLEX', only the Jumbo is covering up the 'L', 'E' and 'X' of FLEX.

A pinch and a kapow
For the first— holy cow!
Is it August already?
On a grey concrete floor is the sliced top of a round, yellow courgette, which has also been sliced through the dark green part that was once attached to the stem of its plant. This has exposed the very pale green flesh of the fruit within its dark green border, and looks like an organic, nine-pointed star. Together with its mostly circular yellow background, it looks a bit like a kapow - a comic-strip style explosion or punch, often associated with Batman and Robin. Beneath the kapow courgette is the word 'KAPOW!' carved from a large, regular-shaped, green courgette. The letters are deep enough to expose the very pale green flesh of the fruit. Like all respectable vegetable arrangers I've added my signature, which is in the bottom-right corner.

A Pimoroni Pico LiPo 2 (XL W) in the small pocket inside the larger front right-hand pocket of a pair of jeans (a pocket no-one ever uses for anything ever). The jeans are being worn by me, but you can't see the rest of me. The top of Pico LiPo 2 is sticking out of the top of the pocket (at a slight angle) with its USB-C socket, three LEDs, two switches, and only 11 of its 60 surface-mount pads showing.

Last night I had a sinking feeling that my partner and I had turned up to see a @JohnFinnemore.bsky.social tribute act instead of the real thing. But no, thank goodness, it was just a slip of the chalk...

On the blackboard has been chalked 'John Finnemore', although the 'o' and the 'r' of 'Finnemore' have merged, making it look like 'Finnemde'. Underneath, and in smaller letters, is 'DURATION 7:30 - 9:30'; underneath that is 'INTERVAL: 8:15' and underneath that is 'WARNING: LAUGHING!'.

I can't find my calipers at the moment, but the SP/CE connector is definitely taller - 1 or 2mm perhaps...
Viewed from the side, an upside down Pimoroni Pico Plus 2 and an upside down Pimoroni Pico Plus 2W butted up to each other on the non USB connector end, showing that the SP/CE connector is taller than the RM2 module.

It's tight (on the Pico Plus 2). You might need to lose .5mm from the SP/CE connector, but I can't really tell with this perfect set-up 😉...
Viewed from above, a Pimoroni Pico Plus 2 badly housed between two EDAC SMT Edge Connectors for the Pico. I say badly because it's all held together with rubber bands. It's resting on a Monk Makes Pico Proto PCB, as is a Raspberry Pi Pico. I've tried to line up the underside of the connector's pins on the near edge with those on the far side and it looks like the SP/CE connector on the Pico Plus 2 is a little proud, ie it wouldn't sit properly on the EDAC connectors. In the background is a Monk Makes Pico Proto PCB, as is a Raspberry Pi Pico.

Brian, I bet the Venn diagram of shiny new things we've each bought since the RP2350 was launched is very nearly just a circle. 😉
Some shiny new things laid flat on an orange coloured book cover and viewed from above. The things are: an RP2350 Stamp XL microcontroller development board, an RP2xxx Stamp Carrier XL circuit board, an RPi Pico to Uno FlexyPin Adapter circuit board, and a clear plastic bag of FlexyPins. They're all from a company called Solder Party.
