One the best books I have read in a long time. An intellectual odyssey that interweaves Kleper, Maria Mitchell, Emily Dickinson, and Harriet Hosmer, to finish up with Rachel Carlson. All of that tinted with other personalities along the way like Nathaniel Hawthorne and Charles Darwin. Genius!
