My own university & my friends’ jobs in schools in the city are going through their own shit too. But i am glad that 90% of my tl is stuff like @overholt losing his monocle over a Levi’s sale.

And don’t get me wrong—i do know about it & some of it does affect me pretty directly. My partner works at one of the most adminstration-cursed/plagued universities in the country. 3/

It’s not that universities here are actually fine, but that I don’t dive into many convos about stuff going on at them. Which, given my inability to do anything there, is actually better for my mental health. 2/

Now I'm heading into the last 2 weeks of classes & need to focus on grading. But I'm going to try to keep the focus going on my own work by writing a little (20 minutes?) in the mornings when I don't teach this week.
