Collingswood has joined 8 other towns across NJ in urging New Jersey to pass a #rankedchoicevoting resolution. This suburb in #southjersey is asking for NJ to allow #rcv because it is proven to give voters more choices and ensure the majority of voices are heard.

Voter Choice NJ has no official statement on their favorite couple, but we do think ranked-choice voting would be a win for Love Island viewers #loveisland #loveislandusa #rankedchoicevoting

The interesting thing is “here is my ranking” is actually more common internationally. Ex: in Australia (where unlike the US you have to rank every candidate) candidates will hand you a card before you walk into the voting booth with every other candidate ranked.

Primary reform is also a great idea.

Ranked-choice voting is just voting with backup options if your favorite can’t win.

And the data is really clear that when voters have those backup options, they can more confidently vote for candidates who are seen as less “electable”.

The NJ Gubernatorial Primary is around the corner. Before we vote, we deserve to know what the candidates think about ranked-choice voting. Check out our question guide for more resources: www.voterchoicenj.org/vcnj_guberna...

It’s certainly more representative.

Pretty much every implementation of RCV has lead to more wins for women and people of color (folks not traditionally seen as “electable”).

And the Oscar goes to… Ranked-Choice Voting! 🏆🗳️ The Academy has been using RCV and proportional RCV for decades—because it’s great at ensuring that the majority of voters are heard.

Another ranked-choice voting resolution. Thank you Montclair 💛!

Two resolutions calling for RCV enabling legislation here in NJ, in two days.

Thank you to our local volunteers who helped make this happen. Voters across NJ are eager to try a proven way to upgrade how we vote.

The latest polling NYC voters in 2024 shows they support ranked-choice voting 2 to 1. Beyond the mayoral election, it elected a record number of women and candidates of color.

In the past two months, two additional municipalities voted to urge New Jersey to enable ranked-choice voting for local elections. Hoboken, Jersey City, and Red Bank have stepped up. How did they do it, and could your town be next?

Here’s a snippet of the ordinance. If NJ passes the Municipal and School Board Voting Options Act - the council has committed to a referendum asking voters if they want to switch to RCV. (3/3)

Ranked-choice voting is a proven reform to Red Bank’s expensive, low-turnout run-offs. (2/3)

It’s official: Red Bank has joined Hoboken and Jersey City. They’re urging New Jersey to pass ranked-choice voting enabling legislation for local elections. (1/3)

Looking at the NYC election, RCV clearly helped.

NYC had the highest turnout in 30 years, most diverse city council elected and had less vote splitting than would have occurred in a traditional run-off.

Later no harm is real and can create elections where range systems produce *worse* outcomes than even plurality!
