I think in some ways you are correct. But, I do think we are seeing it already that some of the base are not happy about how he is handling this, and despite what they tell you...MAGA diehards are a big minority in this country.

Actually I take it back. They are saying they are in favor because they know now that the "DOJ is investigating" they can tell their constituents, hey we tried, but now it's an ongoing investigation and the files cannot go public.

I still think the effort to delay was to try and scrub anything and everything we have not seen relative to Trump, and word has gotten out to the No voters that they can vote yes now. Why would anyone trust the DOJ's files now?

If anyone still does not know the difference between a Trump supporter and a non-Trump supporter, here it is. A non-Trump supporter may have voted for Bill Clinton, may have even believed in him. And none of them are coming out trying to deflect or distract in an effort to defend his involvement.

Why should the American public believe that this "delay" was not merely an effort to remove any information about the current President in the files before releasing to the public? Is that perhaps why the estate released the emails? How will we know?

Also, they could do a winter break from Dec to mid-January and then schedule wisely. The players would benefit from it also.

How would they compete for airtime with EPL? What MLS match is on at 10am eastern? Smart Scheduling can easily avoid weather issues. NFL is not an issue if they focus more on a Saturday schedule. Currently MLS competes with NBA/NHL in 7 out of 10 scheduled months.

Why is it stupid? It is better for the players/clubs in terms of managing international appearances. Also allows them to be more competitive in transfer market. It is also better for the viewing audience, ESPECIALLY if they do more Saturday afternoon matches.
