.@lufthansa.bsky.social reports 2 million people have been conned into buying its BS 'sustainable flying' premium - 90% spent on dodgy offsets, 10% on 'sustainable aviation fuel' (which isn't sustainable).

Under greenwash investigation by @ec.europa.eu, but not holding my breath.

A new Danish public TV documentary on the forest destruction that fuels IKEA's thirst for wood airs tonight! It features Earthsight's work alongside an interview with our Director.📽️

LoL. It was surely only a matter of time.

Bankers want to get carbon credits for lending money to things which they claim will release less carbon than things they *could* have lent to. What could possibly go wrong...??

I don't know why this huge new piece of research covering nearly a quarter of the entire voluntary carbon hasn't had more attention, with its damning finding that:

"less than 16% of the carbon credits issued to the investigated projects constitute real emission reductions".

As ever, excellent investigative journalism on climate scams by Tin Fischer. The first of what will no doubt be many exposes of deals through the new global carbon markets which have been (more or less) approved at #COP29.
New carbon market investigation: Switzerland tries to compensate its emissions abroad, its Bangkok eBus project is seen as a "trailblazer" for Article 6.2. Warnings that it fuels a $10 billion stock market bubble were ignored. Now the bubble has burst. www.republik.ch/2024/11/18/d...
