I wondered the exact same thing. I suspect its because insta thinks we're all getting inactive or whatever, so they gotta bait us back on Instagram with any notification. I didn't post for an eternity until recently, but I would still get like 20 notifications daily to bait me back on the app 🤷‍♂️
