@cmc4768.bsky.social I finally tried #YourMom’sHaus in #ElGrenada. It’s a German #pub with emphasis on beer, and food is an afterthought. The schnitzel was ok. The potato salad lacked spices and vinegar. Bratwurst ok, boar with blueberries snags too sweet.

A cute little #BananaSlug was feasting on some gourmet mushrooms. Banana slugs can grow to about 25 cm long, but this one was about 7 cm. Seen on a Marin coastal trail in a redwood forest.

I saw little #mushrooms on a trail. Jim, I'm also not a mycologist, so I would not eat those. I only eat boletes, chanterelles, and field mushrooms, which I know very well.

I was checking out pelicans and seals with grandpa's 20x Wollensak mirror scope. The scope has the lens shade extended in the first image. The second picture shows the mirror in this #MirrorScope, and the reflection shows the foghorn building with the two foghorns at #PigeonPoint Lighthouse.

#PrisonerIsland is just a few hundred yards from #PigeonPoint Lighthouse. The white coloring is guano. Prisoner Ilsand is a very picturesque #birdshit rock.

HMB #airport in San Mateo County: On the left, a #Cirrus #Vision #SF50. This #plane has its own parachute. No need to jump in case of an impending crash.
The plane on the right is a #Cozy Mark IV, and apparently, it has suffered nose landing gear failure, as the nose wheel has not been deployed.

The #I.D.E.S. Society* is located right next to the giant pumpkin display in HMB. There is also a neat #mural on another building right there.
* This local #Portuguese Divine Holy Spirit organization was founded in 1871. There were once many Portuguese fishermen living in the area.

#Arata's Pumpkin Farm has currently a #Halloween theme going. I think they'll keep it going all the way through and maybe even past Thanksgiving. They also have some nicely rusted and decaying tractors with lovely textures and colors of entropy in action.

Here is the French #Laguiole mushrooming #knife that I was hoping to get to use yesterday. The curved blade is used for cutting the stem of the mushroom. The #brush in the handle is used for cleaning delicate mushrooms. I made the holster a few years ago. I may post pictures of the process later.
