Yeah look, I also make and repair furniture, but this notion of 'bought for $80 sold for R2900' implies that it was just done with skill and labour, when in reality, there are tools and consumables that need to be accounted for. You get this same nonsense with DIY builds. It costs A LOT more.

So then what does it cover? As a comparison, in South Africa my health insurance costs $14 000 for a family of 4. This provides full hospitalisation cover with co-payments only for electives and scope procedures. I also get $4000 to use at my discretion for out of hospital expenses.
