I don't think the slope is that slippery. It's a huge step from normalize to mandate, and the only way it gets significantly normalized is if it actually "works". If the rates of "success" are as dire as we believe from past experience, that seems unlikely to happen.

Stephen Jiminez set out to write a book about Shepard's story. He, a gay man, discovered as he dug deeper that what happened was not what the official story says. The book he wrote wasnt the book he expected to write. Tragic death, but it was not because he was gay.

Charlie's suffering and effect on the people of this world to Jesus is something Jesus did. No one considers Charlie some kind of messiah. His life POINTED to the true messiah, as all of ours (Christians') should.

I suppose we both agree that speech has consequences. Charlie risked going into the lion's den every time he did one of these campus things. I think he expected there to be pushback, or "consequences", but I don't think he expected this.

According to you, believing different things politically = deserves to be executed. I don't know that pissed off is the right term. I am extremely disturbed about the state of political discourse in our country.

How so? I am not aware of him ever advocating assassination, quite the opposite - he advocated dialogue over violence.

I'm not looking for brownie points, I pretty much expect to be called the worst things possible on here for my views. But don't miss the point: don't generalize the views of conservatives based on a horrible take like this. Both sides have a horrible habit of doing that.

I'm very conservative and agree that's just an awful thing to say. Homeless PEOPLE are PEOPLE, human beings created in the image of God. He is advocating murder, a crime against our law and a crime against God's law.
