I was able to make this apron from a pair of jeans that had gone past to usability. Largely because of a giant hole in the garage. But now I have a snazzy jeans apron! And all you had to do was cut it out. No sewing. #upscale #repurpose #jeans #crafts #frugal

On #cooking #wins, I made this killer carrot, apple, lentil soup. It wasn’t my plan but the squash I had was past its prime, and I noticed this after I dumped everything else in the Instantpot. So I googled, and experimented, & this soup turned out SO GOOD! With breadmaker bread cheese toast!

So my second batch of yogurt came out even better than the first! I adjusted my fermentation time, and I used 1 pint of heavy cream for the gallon of yogurt. Shelf stable milk works! This is a game changer for me. Next, trying adding powdered milk to the mix for extra thickness.

So I got an Instant pot and made whole milk yogurt for the first time! I may have fermented it a little too long, but it is good and this is going to dramatically cut my yogurt costs! I figure it will pay for itself in a month or two at the most even if I do nothing else. Very happy!

I did a goat walk Wednesday and Ivy was lovely! She’s a female Nigerian dwarf goat. Also learned goats are matriarchal, and Ivy is the leader of the herd.

Just wanted to share my newest find at the Reading terminal market in Philly. If you are looking for some delicious sweet potato pies & other baked goods, and/or want to support black businesses, definitely check this out! They make a good pie! And are also at 30th St. which I didn’t realize.
