Awesome. Your Arcane Ascension series is in my TBR for 2025. Will check it out.
Also, most of your covers are magnificent, especially Arcane ones. Do you do the designs and typography yourself?

Thanks for reading. I’ll try doing one character every week/fortnight. Whom should I do next? You tell me.

In summary, here’s how he stacks up:
Likability: 3/10
Proactivity: 10/10
Competence: 7/10

I've seen many cite Light as super-smart or even charming. Never got it. He's a terrible person but his strong belief that he's the smartest & working for greater good makes him work.

What makes Light compelling is that he’s insanely driven. He never breaks character. He doubles down on his twisted vision & drags us with him. That bullish clarity is magnetic. He's not the smartest (that's L) but the most determined. Good anti-hero/villain lesson.

Competence: 7/10
Light is smart, yes. He pulls off nice moves like beating the FBI & creating fake rules. But he’s not untouchable. L outwits him regularly & Light needs magical loopholes or pure luck (DN rules, running into Penbar fiance, 2nd Kira being his fan) to survive.

Proactivity: 10/10
Light’s strongest trait. He doesn’t just act—he dominates the plot. From the moment he gets the DN he sets his god complex in motion. Never hesitates, always plans & pushes every scene forward. In his own words no one else would have used the DN like him.

Likability: 3/10
Light is written to not be likable. He’s arrogant, snobby & sees others as pawns.
If you actually ended up liking his personality, rewatch the show—he’s not meant to be your hero. Literally, the opening scene establishes his core trait of condescence.

This method is based on Brandon Sanderson’s character slider framework. You rate a character on 3 scales:
Likability (Do we root for them?)
Proactivity (Do they drive the story?)
Competence (How skilled are they?)

It's a good entry point to discuss.
