Unfortunately I don’t see how the Constitution can ever be amended again. Thirty-eight states have to agree? In our current reality I can’t imagine that many American states agreeing on what color the sky is much less on significant changes to our founding document.

Watched it again just the other day and it’s as good as ever. Sam Neill is one of those actors I would automatically watch in almost anything.

Exactly. It’s a long journey to try to get ever closer to the ideals of the Declaration and the Constitution. Unfortunately the progress is not always forward.

My grandfather was a Yankees fan, my father was a Yankees fan, and I grew up a Yankees fan but I’m so done with those overpaid, underperforming, fascist-adjacent orcs. (I still won’t root for the Mets, obviously, I’m not that desperate. Maybe some suitably harmlesss team like the White Sox 🙂)

I spent a couple months in France once and comprehension was definitely the hardest thing. I spoke fairly well with a good accent and when people heard me they thought I was fluent and would respond with an incomprehensible jumble of nasal vowels that I could not make any sense of at all 😳

I always knew there was an anti-democratic, authoritarian fringe here but I thought that’s what it was, a fringe. But it’s not 5 or 10 percent of the population it’s more like half. That may be the most terrifying realization out of all of this.
