I shared on my webcomic, Crystal Visions, that I'm taking a little break to recharge. It’s been a real challenge trying to keep up with my comic and all my daily responsibilities. But I am determined to make it work! I’ve learned to squeeze in creativity during brief pockets of time, like drawing for just 15 minutes here and there.

What is something others do that sparks your admiration? When people organize community events, I adore it. For example, WordPress ran a month-long challenge called Bloganuary a couple of years back, and that was a really fun event. So, trusting instincts is tough, especially when a Netflix scroll can feel like an Olympic sport. I often add shows to my "Watch Later" list instead of actually watching them, making trailer binging my new favorite hobby. Ultimately, I end up in a long-term relationship with procrastination instead of diving into those ambitious series!

There are always new things happening in my house. That is my polite way of expressing that my home is perpetually disorganized. When company comes over to just visit. I stress over what my home looks like. Mostly in terms of interior design style. I have a dream Pinterest looks that often contradict one another. While I like a clean look with only the things you need as a minimalist.

My first comics were the ones I read in the Sunday newspapers. My dad would occasionally throw away the comics in the trash before my siblings and I could get a chance to read them. Sometimes, he would forget. Other times, my siblings and I would coordinate a distraction strategy. One of us would then sneak and pull out the comic page to read secretly.

Yes, I've been writing on this blog for a while now. When I started, I really had a hard time trying to figure out what to do with this blog. All the advice online said to pick a niche and stick to it. But the reason I started liking blogs and reading them was for the written word of people and how they shared their interests and lifestyles.

Reading comics is a great way to relieve stress. I read a lot of comics for enjoyment. Oftentimes, it's for the love of the art form and storytelling. Above all, it is a great way to relax. I have been reading comics since I was a teenager, and at the time, I started with Archie Comics. I enjoyed the high school jokes and shenanigans to start with.

After weeks of effort, I'm growing stronger and focusing on improving my healthy eating habits.

I am a fan of still writing on paper because it allows me to slow down my thoughts and organize my ideas. So that is why I have writing and drawing pads near my desk, or sometimes I carry a small 5in x 8in note pad. It makes me aware that the space I have on a page is almost relative to what I can realistically achieve.

I forgot to share that my comic was updated last week. Crystal Visions Page 39, I've been challenging myself to draw more backgrounds lately. I absolutely love reading manga that uses inks. These mangas often feature characters engaging in dynamic actions against blank or negative space panels. However, I’ve come to realize that this approach doesn't translate as well when I'm creating a color comic.

Describe your life in an alternate universe. My life in an alternate universe is where my doppelganger is living a very wealthy life. She has a lot of money. I think she barely has to question what's in her bank account. And also, she has a lot of influence everywhere; you know, she just gets it. She's probably a little delusional as well, and a little bit out of touch with what real people do, because, you know, wealthy people in her universe don't know what real people do.

Stream of consciousness Saturday.The word is drink.I don't know why, but my brain directly associates drinks with food. In terms of drinks, I prefer water or Diet Coke. I really love Diet Coke—a lot. But I understand that the artificial sweetener is not good for me. So I have been trying to reduce my Diet Coke consumption. I've replaced it with more water.

I started drawing and coloring again. It's been a long time since I had a moment to work on any personal projects of my own. I took a long break. Two years where I didn't draw much for myself, and I definitely didn’t publish anything. I know what kept me from drawing was, of course, impostor syndrome and AI art. The effort to get exposure or even a conversation/comment on the art that I would post was a lot.

Okay. So today's stream of consciousness talk is about walking. I have been trying to incorporate more movement into my day because I guess, um, it's better for your health. While I do work out maybe like 3 days a week, I need some more steps. They say getting in more steps is good for you. In the morning, I take a 15-minute break and walk.
