Just watched the trailer for the next Avatar film. Looks spectacular, as you might expect. But something about James Horner's theme music absolutely wrecks me every time. Doesn't just pull at your heartstrings, it forcibly attaches them to the back of a speeding train and lets rip.

Duolingo people - I've been doing Swedish on there for a little over 2 years, and am near the end of section 2. What is the CEFR grade equivalent? I'm thinking around B1-ish...?

Can anyone point me in the right direction for where I might be able to find adapters to make a set of 1/4" guitar knobs fit on a 4mm pot, and a 1/3” knob to fit on a 6mm pot? These are for dual-concentric pots.

OK, not going to bother with the Skeets app any more. It has a horribly annoying auto-complete feature that I can't seem to turn off.

I’m guessing that Zuck’s new fact-checking fuckery (ie, complete abdication of responsibility) will only apply to the US? No way he’s getting away with that in the EU. They’ll shut him down.

So Bluesky is the more open alternative to the birdsite. After Zuck's latest ill-advised cucking to Tr**p, what would be the alternatives to Meta's other properties, like FB and Insta?

I've been mostly using Threads to satisfy what little desire I have to have some kind of social media presence, but I think I'm going to be spending more time over here from now on, after reading about Zuck's new moderation rules over there.

Irish musos - where does one look for musicians to play with in Ireland these days? Back in the day it was always the musicians wanted section of Boards, but that's pretty quiet these days. Has some other site come along, or is everyone just using FB, etc?

Been reading a lot about Ruffle, the WASM-based Flash Player replacement. There was a bunch of stuff that was easily done in Flash that's never been completely replicated in HTML/JS. And, last time I checked, Adobe Animate still spits out SWF files so you can still create new Flash content.

There is a Mac app called Graysky - tried it. Didn’t like it. Hopefully there’ll be more options soon, with so many new users heading over here.

Would be happy to entertain work possibilities outside the US too... it's not like, after last week's orange-tinted diarrhoea explosion, the US remains an attractive place to live.
