For PC players that already played it at a high resolution, this remaster looks the same as far as I can remember.

I thought the announcement was received pretty positively. The cute little machine has a lot going for it. They really just need to get the price right.

I agree, Linux gaming is probably their ultimate goal. I do hope the hardware continues even if just to set a baseline since it's so good. Near term, I could see third party steam machines come into play like we saw Lenovo using SteamOS for their handheld PC.

During their interview with IGN, Valve mentioned their eventual goal of making SteamOS support user built PCs. Other than the cute cube, I think we'll get most of what the Steam Machine is eventually.

I think this is one of the reasons Valve only sells the Steam Deck directly in most markets. The people going out of their way to buy direct usually are aware of the caveats. Proton has been a revelation, but it's not perfect.
