This is 99, a beautiful male Collared Lizard with personality. Active, pugnacious, and has no concept of when to stop eating!

Fred, shortly after I was gifted him in June 2019. The Christmas Cactus pot is 11cm diameter. Today his head is 12cm. The pot and plant are still alive, NOT in a terrarium, not near Fred.

When considering how much space a lizard will have in a terrarium, I think we should include square cm of ceiling space. Unless you are housing legless lizards.

In all the years I’ve gone looking for lizards, only once—ONCE—have I seen a Fence Lizard on a fence!
Not fencing, not receiving stolen property, not fencing something in. Just sitting on a split rail fence.
It really was cool!
