Is is heresy to say I prefer Penny Marshall's "The Preacher's Wife" remake to "The Bishop's Wife"? I just find David Niven's character so cold, imperious and just plain mean that I find it hard to root for him. Marshall's film strikes a much better tone for the story, and the cast is sublime.
