1. Asking first doesn’t magically make genocide not be genocide!
2. That’s exactly what the Nazis did (expelling them to Poland etc, proposing relocating them to Madagascar etc).
This is why it’s called the Final Solution, because shipping people out of the country was a preceding solution.

Besides, it’s definitely misleading to portray her as pro-Israel and if you look at what’s happening as a result it’s hard to argue it hasn’t damaged the cause. 3/3

I can think of good moral and political arguments as to why her vote might be both just and astute; enough at least that I wouldn’t ostracise her from a movement desperately in need of solidarity and support. 2/3

Thanks, valuable points. I agree with extreme sanctions on Israel (have for over 30 years), but I don’t believe that AOC voting no is necessarily inconsistent with her long-standing and vocal support of Palestinians. 1/3

Perhaps, but to discern that evidence would help. I didn’t question your confidence in your opinion, so this emphatic statement of self-confidence isn’t very persuasive. I was questioning whether your confidence is warranted (& offering evidence it isn’t).

People exploding this false messaging that I voted for a bill + funding that I quite literally voted NO on. The threat environment this morning is scary.
