My entry for the concept101 art competition; the brief followed was “Unfinished Masterpiece”.

I drew a sorcerer trying to translate the abilities of magic into a scientific theorem; recording each detail into his notebook. ⚡️📚⚜️☕️

The image is an illustration of a nice, decadent and posh laboratory, in the foreground is an elf sorcerer conjuring an arc of purple lightning whilst multitasking writing down important analytical notes in the other hand. On the table are other books, empty mugs and a sandwich. In the background is a chalkboard covered in equations, notes, stuck on papers and drawings of the magic he’s trying to achieve. Next to it is a cabinet full of books and scrolls, as well as a chemistry set with vials and other apparatus. There is a staircase to the right that leads to an overhead balcony where there are further bookcases and plants; behind them is a giant glass pane door akin to an observatory; beyond it are trees. Above all of this hanging in the air is a golden coloured fixture of a solar system, or a planet. It’s that time again!
My name is Vanspratzy and I’m currently a freelance illustrator and concept artist!

I’m looking for entry level junior position atm 💚
A greyscale artwork of a qunari mage rook in a dark place where only they’re magic lights the way and the sparse light that shines through the cracks in the cieling. He looks on past the viewer concerningly while he holds his staff emanating with magic feeding the flames in his hand that light the way. The character Gale of Waterdeep from Baldurs Gate 3 side by side with my player character Heath (The Dark Urge) both using magic. Gale is wielding fire in his hand with his back turned up against Heath who is forward facing with a healing green magic in hand. The characters are in a dark background set upon a red fluid gradient they’re standing on. A Qunari mage in the centre of a meditation circle floating cross legged with his eyes closed. The setting is an ancient arlathan temple bathed in a golden yellow light from above with lit candles scattered around. Smoke produced from said candles billow out incense-like smoke into a circle above the mage.
