If Iga Swiatek’s level on the court this year at Wimbledon was a 10/10,

I give this Strawberry Pasta a solid 9!!!

I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this dish 🎾🍓🇵🇱🙌

Great experience playing tennis today in San Diego with esteemed 🎾 journalist & author @christopherclarey.bsky.social on the day his Rafa book “The Warrior” got published and released. Chris is also a gifted player on the court with a classic net rushing, chip/charge, S&V throwback play-style.

Was an absolute pleasure covering the Miami Open and I felt very fortunate to analyze the tennis so up close and personal

It was pretty cool to be able to pick the brains of so many top players on both tours.

Looking back I got to ask questions to so many of them

Here’s the whole list:)

After Iga Swiatek won her R3 match against Elise Mertens, I asked her about her return of serve and her thoughts about the deep return position ⬇️

After Djokovic’s 6-2 6-2 win over Musetti, I asked him about the forehand drop shot and its effectiveness/purpose in his game. It’s been a recent development this week in Miami in his practice sessions and all 3 matches so far

Here is what Novak had to say about it

Iga Swiatek posted a lengthy Instagram post about what a difficult time the last 6 months have been for her & how she feels she’s being harshly judged for being more emotionally expressive.

Worth a read: Good on her for being so open about her mistake, but also asking the fans/media for some grace.

The last player to defeat Mirra Andreeva.

Could end up being an important trivia question in tennis history 👀

Holger won this against one of the best defenders in the world with more winners than unforced errors off the forehand wing (15-13) is a sign he executed on the big points really well.

1st big final since 2023 Rome!

Jim Courier: “Holger Rune at his best is better than Daniil Medvedev at his best”

Have always loved going to Indian Wells as a fan. Had a great short chat with Anastasia on why the experience feels so special each year.

The celebration, handshake apology, and Fils racquet smash all in 30 seconds 😆

Arthur tried blasting his way through Daniil’s defense in set 1 (it didn’t work), but he made adjustments with short slices, patience, & timely net approaches

Came very close to a big win, but Medvedev showed clutchness

Funky win to reach 3rd straight IW QF

4-0➡️4-4➡️6-4 6-0

Daniil patiently willing to grind, but a head scratching one for Tommy.

2024: Left IW with a sour taste when he got himself into a winning position vs Medvedev in the SF but rolled his ankle.

2025 it’s the tennis that’ll leave the sour taste.

17 year old Mirra Andreeva played literally a perfect match vs Elena Rybakina

Toyed with her all evening

Defense, offense, angles, drop shots, fluid movement, improved serve, 200 IQ

Meanwhile Rybakina’s game was coughing lots of unforced errors & appeared compromised in these conditions.

6-1 6-2

Nadal: Roger was “making a little bit of a mistake against me” early on in the rivalry by playing too much topspin on the backhand and so “he kept giving me the chance to hit forehands against his backhand”

Says “2017 was the best level of Federer’s career”

BRANDON NAKASHIMA 💪🙌

Def Matteo Arnaldi 6-2 6-4

Confident serving with 77% 1st serves in and won 37/45 total service points (1st +2nd combined)

Hitting the forehand so well, with a lot of shape and flattening the right shots

Great form right now

LADIES AND GENTLEMAN WHAT A NIGHT

YOSUKE WATANUKI 🇯🇵

Impossible not to love the guy. The crowd came expecting Frances to be the star of the show

But instead they fell in love with his opponent

Take a bow. You just have to say too good sometimes!
