Fan of Boards, trails, reading, singing, cycling and randomness.
So much fun singing along to 1925 film Phantom of the Opera last night. Orpheum was full of fans - including many in costumes.

The score is jazzy and the ensemble does some great improv. There is “vamping” involved to stay in sync with the film.

I’m down there behind Jeremy Berkman on trombone.

Missed getting a pic of the amazing red ball of sun tonight - but saw it from my bike. Caught this warm-up act. (Yes I know what is contributing to the beautiful sunsets).

Fine day for a spin on the Allouette River dyke. Went past the groomed part. Almost ran over a snake. Turned around. 🤣 Pretty tough call re who was more startled.

When you are on your bike and an unexpected barrier pops up - or down. Yikes! (No I didn’t witness it - it just surprised me)

Found myself in East Van today and decided to check out the New Brighton Park salt marsh restoration project. Epic combo of industrial and natural ecosystems. #SoManyBirds

I had a chance to take a spin on the new electric hydrofoil ferry being proposed for Vancouver area short trips. Think Granville Island, YVR, Bowen Island, Squamish, Coal Harbour, etc.

Where would you like to go?

After a full afternoon of orca-spotting yesterday, I’m on the rail at Batches tonight. What a glorious place to live.

This weekend Vancouver Bach Family of Choirs joined Vancouver Symphony Orchestra to perform Beethoven 9. We sang from memory, the orchestra/soloists were amazing. We are so lucky to experience the music this way, and the wave of appreciation from the audience - wow! I’ll admit tears of joy!

At Prospect Point, waiting to see if we get a show tonight. #AuroraBorealis
Not a bad place to wait.

Today’s waterfront view. Humpbacks may be heading this way, but more importantly, a lounging sea lion is occationally serenading the few of us here. We live in an amazing place.

I guess there’s a first time for everything. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket. #FirstOnTheFerry

I am very pleased to report that my trip to the gardening store today resulted in the correct number of plants for my containers. I shall celebrate this rare victory tomorrow by planting them regardless of the weather.

Trying to figure out why “thank god I’m a country boy” is running through my head.
Don’t think it was the CBC news, or writing a motion for Granville Island Council, or singing show tunes in a concert last night, or…
My inner soundtrack is often amusing and mysterious.

I’m loving meeting members of a new-to-me community - people out looking for our growing population of local whales. Whytecliff, Ambleside, Stanley Park, Jericho, Harbourview. Met a cool couple on a viewing platform today. When the binoculars come out, the conversation starts. #CoolAccessory

Missing all the cool whale action in Van today, but I’m down in White Rock for a meeting and the views of the ocean are sure gorgeous here, too.

Today’s adventure near water: stopped by one of my fave places to spin my wheels (Pitt River Greenway) while en route to Maple Ridge to rehearse Carmina Burana. Will be a great show tomorrow! The ACT Arts Centre Metro Vancouver Regional Parks
