Have been reconnecting with my Adventure Time roots while watching through the series and I can’t tell you how important Natasha Allegri’s work was to me as a college student. Looking at this now still makes me want to pick up a pencil and draw.

My cat had big “editor wondering why you are posting online about playing video games instead of working” energy last night.

Had this drawing pop up while digging through my old files and couldn’t help but reshare. @lauraknetzger.bsky.social’s Bug Boys comics always make me smile.

We never saw the Great Pumpkin, but we do have a sighting of the Great Donkey.

Quote with your favourite film* and album from the year you were born.

* Several of the “greatest films of all time” came out in 1994, so I went with the one that’s had the longest psychic imprint on me. I love Shawshank and Pulp Fiction, but Crumb was the first documentary that challenged me.

Finally got to a place where I feel comfortable inking this.

Sometimes making comics is drawing the same hay wagon over and over again expecting different results.

Piggy: Jungle Pursuit has been out a couple of weeks and I appreciate all the positive things I’ve been hearing from fans. If you thought book 2 was a wild ride, we amped it up even more for book 3!

In honor of Asexual Awareness Week, might I recommend @toonyballoony.bsky.social’s comic AroAcing it, which is an accessible look at the feelings many asexual people experience as they navigate a culture where sexual desire is compulsory rather than wanted. toonyart.com/ace

Big fan of when artists take an homage and push it into a new direction rather than doing a direct trace or study. For example here’s a Moebius reinterpretation of Edward Hopper’s “The Nighthawks.”

Realized that all I’m asking for is more comics like Miyazaki’s Porco Rosso manga.

I want more comics like this.

What are y’all’s favorite dinosaurs? Personally a huge fan of nanuqsaurus, T-Rex’s cousin from way up north who lived in snowy environments.

Loved reading the first 11 issues of Daredevil because it shows a strange alternative universe where Marvel Comics could have been drawn by EC Comics giants instead of Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. Not for good or ill, but a wildly different approach to superheroes.

Happy #portfolioday! Was looking through my portfolio and a project I wish had found a publisher was this kid’s graphic novel pitch called Alexander Zombie’s Afraid of Humans. It follows a little zombie boy who is deathly afraid of humans…until he meets one. Maybe one day it will find a home.

Haven’t drawn a truly self-indulgent comic in a while, but had a ton of fun drawing this story featuring my character Earnest Elderblüd, who is debuting in a goofy video short my friends made. This comic will be included in Death Rattle Literary’s Hallowzine, debuting at the The Spill on October 18.
