The way we teach our students in an oppressive society, mirrors the way that oppression occurs. The teacher becomes all knowing and the students become vessels for change. This dehumanizes the student.

The only way forward is to become more human. We can only rid ourselves of the shackles of oppression by self-actualizing and getting involved. By no longer agreeing that we are less than for having less.

People become only "things" to be controlled. It is typical that if this is reversed, the oppressor truly feels that they themselves are oppressed. For the oppressor, human beings only refers to them.

Those who oppress frequently believe that having more is through their effort. To them, to have is to be. They cannot imagine a world without having. This dehumanizes them and the people around them as people become only 1/2
