At a time where the industry is stupendously profitable and only growing, there are countless cuts to jobs and the industry has already shown that GenAI is just another means of a specific subset getting even more money whilst callously haemorrhaging talent and experience.

Putting aside for a moment the ecological damage caused by GenAI, despite it being a huge reason. The main reason I don’t think there’s middle ground here is because the games industry has shown time and again that they won’t agree to or even consider one.
