Spring in the desert. Beautiful blooming palo verde (green stick) trees. These trees have a neat low water adaptation where, under super dry conditions, they can drop their tiny leaves and photosynthesize though their bark.

As of last Friday I am now a tenured associate professor. I am happy and relieved. The past few years have been full of so much change and new discoveries. I can’t even imagine where things will be in another 5 or 10 years but am looking forward to the adventure.
