Two big life moments last week:
1) My English PhD committee signed off on my dissertation, so I'm just about done and doctored.
2) I stepped into a court for the first time to argue a moot case and, honestly--along with writing books--I've found my calling.
Pumped for this new chapter. ⚖️✒️✨️

When I get up each morning, I think about the people who forged the hope and equality I've benefited from when those ideals weren't givens.
When I consider how hard they fought (when it was hard to fight), and that hope is man-made, I'm incapable of apathy or inaction. And I'm proud to choose #law.

Before President Carter, only 8 women had been federal judges. He appointed 40 women and 37 black federal judges--the first time the judiciary represented ALL of the US's top legal talent. Now, as Justice Ginsburg would say, "we are all over the federal bench."
