The dullest life remembers there once was joy on earth,
And draws from youth’s recesses
Some memory it possesses.......

The stars are bright
To chear the night,
And shed, through shadows, temper'd fire;
And Phoebus flames
With burnish'd beams,

Santa Lucia
Thy light is glowing
Through darkest winter night
Comfort bestowing.
Dreams float on wings tonight,
Comes then the morning light
