They created a fake problem by saying the existence of transgender folks is a threat to "traditional values" (whatever those are), then they got a quick "win" when they "solved" the problem by dehumanizing those folks. Hate is easier to exploit, and they love exploitation.

They want to keep folks mad at an 'other' while they pick our pockets, and people falling for it. Anti-LGBTQ+ actions come alongside cancelling price protections for prescription drugs for medicare/medicaid patients, and rolling back other consumer protections. The culture war stimies the class war.
