In zoomed-in footage slowed down of the ICE murder, it does appear they disarmed the man prior to any shots being fired.

It really is awesome. I really liked the stuff on whole-society defence. @stephenmarche.bsky.social's book *The Next Civil War* (which I heard about on the excellent podcast Canadaland) is also a must-read to understand certain batshit neighbours

This sounds great, but: What's to stop ICE from continuing to claim demonstrators weren't being peaceful or that a crime wasn't imminent, or proceeding as if they can count on blanket pardons if they do violate this order?

It is real. Here's a report on CBS too: www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/ne... Why isn't ICE tear-gassing a family with six kids getting more airtime??
Minneapolis couple says ICE released tear gas under their family vehicle with 6 children inside
A couple and their six children say they were trapped inside their vehicle when tear gas exploded underneath.

@stephenmarche.bsky.social please ignore my other skeet; I now think that video is for real (even if it's not on Fox 9 channel anymore). Here's a corroborating report on CBS: www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/ne...

And yes @stephenmarche.bsky.social I agree this is the stuff that wars are made of

Yes! And most people in wealthy countries are already getting *way more protein than needed* (as well as way too little fibre, which comes only from plants) for good health. Wish everyone would absorb the message of this great WRI graph: www.wri.org/data/people-... We need a similar graph on fibre!
People Are Eating More Protein than They Need—Especially in Wealthy Regions
Overconsumption of protein occurs in all of the world’s regions, and it is rising in developing and emerging economies. In 2009, the average person in more than 90 percent of the world’s countries and...

Subsidies to oil companies = more corporate welfare. Socialism for the ultra-rich; naked capitalism for the poor who eat the 'externalities' (like climate change). Thank you for clarifying Exxon's actual stance for those of us who didn't read their spin.

Thank you for this, Rebecca. Your eloquent rationale for not verbally surrendering in advance is just what I needed today.
