Board games, sci-fi, F1, climbing. I design board games on the side and post about them! Sometimes post about sci-fi books and podcasts.

I got a lot of clean up and boring rules stuff done on my latest chocolate game this week but maybe most proud of this monster sketch I made at work. For the pizza RPG. I call him a laser belcher

lol, no chocolate, pizza! The world has been over run by monsters from the Earth’s core and, suddenly, delivering pizzas has become very lucrative.

I play in TTRPGs every now and then and run some too but I never saw myself designing a TTRPG but I’ve been really liking it.

Been working more on my TTRPG. I finished a prototype character sheet.

One of the games I’m working on includes chocolate miniatures, unfortunately not actually chocolates but still pretty awesome.

I’ve been working on a number of things this week. A new level for my solo print and play, finishing up printing new chocolate models, and drafting up a character sheet for my TTRPG system. Three projects moving at once is more than I’m used too. Stresses me out but I’m excited about all of them!

The Wayfarers by Becky Chambers.

Three Body Trilogy - Liu Cixin

Many other good ones named by others too!

It’s coming along nicely. I got some good feedback last week at Protospiel Madison. I think this chocolate game fits the feel of the chocolate mechanism better than Modern Chocolate did

A couple new chocolate models this week. The new version needs to differentiate between shapes more than the last one.

This looking awesome!

Not much new for me this week. I put the final touches on my chocolate prototype for Protospiel Madison next weekend. I have been making some notes about an RPG design but I’m not expecting that to go anywhere.

Yeah, the sizing was good! Now on to printing in color and a lot of cutting.

Checking sizing on my black and white printer before getting some color prints made. This is the prototype of my latest chocolate game.

I agree. I was surprised not to see a ship aspect to Stoneburner. I see the ship in a space game just as important as the ship in a pirate game. I’m running a stone burner one shot in a couple of weeks and I’m trying to decide if I home brew a ship sheet or modify the story.

Made some paper printable chocolate tokens for my next chocolate game prototype.

When a game has more value assigned to it than I paid for it then I say I’ve gotten enough value from it.

I try to not have more than 5 games in my collection at a time that I haven’t gotten value out of.

I believe this. I think I’m today’s world of flashy game art and Kickstarter hype that it’s much easier to get people to buy a game than it is to get people to play a game. People impulse buy games that they never actually have time or the group to play
