I unironically need one of these in my life.

Basically, I would want the equivalent of a Switch, but for movies and shows. I can permanently own a physical copy, watch it on a device that doesn’t require WiFi to be usable, and also be able to plug it into my tv and watch it there.

In a world where streaming didn’t take off, companies probably could’ve developed a sturdier and more compact replacement for DVDs and Blu-rays. Like a flash drive or a cartridge type thing that can’t get damaged as easily as a disk or a tape.

Digital downloads don’t really count as advancement because companies can still revoke access to the media or the service. They’ve created a system where the consumer only gets to “own” something as long as they feel like making the thing available.

It’s weird that the noodle shapes are just the HBO logo. It’s like if SpongeBob macaroni had noodles in the shape of the Nickelodeon logo
