Slowly building up a physical library of my favourite kdramas - which seems more relevant with the news that Viki is losing a bunch of dramas. I imagine most will pop up somewhere else, but is it useful to have something like this for a deep dive, which I plan to start posting this month #kdrama

Call Me Chihiro (2023) is a cozy slice of life drama about a woman drifting between different places and occupations, and the people whose lives she affects in a Japanese village where she has taken up work at a bento shop.

Binged this iver the weekend. Good performances all around; some of the side stories were better than others, with some being more comedic and others more poignant. Without spoiling too much, I wish that the ending was more satisfying, but YMMV there.

I've been buying as much physical media as I can. Even if I'm subscribed to a service that has a show I like, that show will inevitably leave at some point. And some dramas, like the one below, don't seem to be on any US streaming sites.

I just finished episode 6 (of 12) of a Taiwanese drama Lesson in Love, which ends on a cliffhanger. The series started off slow, but now that I can see where things could go I'm fighting the impulse to pace myself until the weekend.

Yeah, it was weird because the ghost was a child soldier (or at the very least a young teen).

Almost finished My Strange Hero. It is a romcom with a side of revenge/exposing school corruption. In the matter sense it reminds me of Melancholia. Like Melancholia, there is a student/teacher romance, but in MSH they dated in high school and are the same age when he goes back to school.

A recent example I can think of is Head Over Heels with the ML and SML. The two even live together at one point. Although they both love the same girl, they never let those feelings turn them against each other.

I'm in the middle of watching The Gift of Your Heart on Viki, which is about high school friends who meet again as adults. They haven't gotten to the lovers part, but I would be surprised if it didn't happen.
