Personally I’ve always been bothered by the terms pre-op and post-op for trans folks, as most of the time it feels like surgery is framed as a finish line or a milestone. Of course, for some folks it certainly is, but for others it’s not.

One of the strangest experiences in my life was slowly watching an ASMRtist I really liked go down the TERF and pseudoscience pipeline. Started with Ancient Greek roleplay videos and ended with her going online and saying Trans women didn’t follow the catholic form of womanhood.
