i don’t actively read for pleasure much anymore but i’ve never understood insanely strict book purists, like why is it SO offensive that film/tv directors can take inspiration from a book you like & have their own spin on it 😭 that’s the whole point of art!!

finished it last night & omg i need ppl to watch + talk about this show as much as the haunting of house & bly manor…so powerful, thought-provoking & heartbreaking w just the right amount of horror/gore, & hamish linklater is a GOD
midnight mass (2021) spoilers // finally watching one of the only mike flanagan shows i’ve never seen & i did not know this has both vampires AND a hot priest?? AND nuanced critiques of religion?? this was made for me 🦇🍷
