Early morning; approaching a walk across a black truss bridge, the air is a deep blue mist. A row of suspended bright yellow lights shine in your face and the red tail lights of a sports car recede into the foggy distance. Across the way are feint dots of yellow and blue street lights in the town.

Spring is springing here. These are Satin Bowerbirds spotted in a local public garden. Of course a Minorbird was hanging around on the branches beside, taking way too much interest - which is also part of the story.
