"I read mechsploitation because it's hot", "I read mechsploitation because I like the horror of it", "I read it for the commentary on trans experiences" frankly at this point I read it because where the fuck else am I going to consistently get mecha with fully-realized female characters
the main problem with being into mechsplo is that if you read enough good mechsploitation stuff you eventually render like 90% of the broader mecha genre vaguely unpalatable by default purely for gender-balance reasons
