Beneath the thin layer of oxidized (read: rusty) iron dust that blankets the planet, a lot of Mars is hues of grey and black. Drill holes are a great way for us to see this! 🔭 🧪

An absolutely wonderful account with many images from deep sea dives, for a moment of marvel in your day.
They’ve done a lot of close-ups on the solitary hydroids. I find it fascinating to be able to see both the outer and inner ring of tentacles and all the stuff in between that I don’t know the name of. Dive 788. #AntarcticClimateConnections #MarineLife #SouthernOcean @schmidtocean.bsky.social

Opinion: Growing kelp may appear like a simple strategy for removing atmospheric carbon, but the practice has many pitfalls.

‘Mineral Fold’ (2023) is a small sculpture I made with deconstructed rapakivi granite. Fired to 1280°C, some minerals are still intact while others have slightly melted.

A favourite to work with: Rapakivi granite.

“Rapakivi is a Finnish compound of "rapa" (meaning "mud" or "sand", while rapautua means "to erode") and "kivi" (meaning "rock"), because (..) exposed rapakivi crumbles easily into sand”

I fire the rock to 1000°C before using it.

Tidevann at Huuto Gallery, 2019.

Tidevann (Norwegian for ‘tide’) is a project about changes in natural processes. Many of the materials used in this project are found in the intertidal zone: seaweed, stones, salt and water.

Fond memories - In 2017 I attended an artist residency in Lofoten. From early morning to late evening I collected and experimented with local materials, it was an amazing time.

The resulting project, Tidevann, (together with Gry Rask Sørensen) was exhibited in Huuto Gallery in 2019.

Glaneur, glaneuse - celui, celle qui glane.

Les glaneurs et la glaneuse is a wonderful movie about collecting after the harvest, markets and much more.
