Lifelong Dodgers fan here. Thrilling WS that kind of made it unfortunate that one of them had to lose. Was very happy the Doyers won but would not have been mad had the Jays pulled it off.

What to do: 1) Put real security in place; the WB wall stopped the bombIngs, patrol the border; 2) immediately let aid into Gaza; 3) deal with the PA for governance; 4) repair Saudi + Jordanian relationships; 5) keep pressure on Iran/Hezbollah; 6) coordinate funding/rebuilding Gaza with Arab nations

I’m not calling for either as I support an Israeli state. I grew up in a conservative synagogue. But the government is engaging in war crimes and managing an apartheid state. They are effectively governing WB/Gaza. We can’t avoid calling those actions out.

Me too, but we have to be honest about what the Israeli govt is doing. Remember Rabin was killed by Jews for making peace. Smotrich, Ben-Gvir and Netanyahu called for annexation and enable the settlers. They think it is Israel, have committed war crimes and done more harm to Israel than any enemy.

The first prime minister of Israel, David Ben Gurion, said in no uncertain terms that land captured in 1967 - the West Bank, Gaza and Sinai - should be returned. Speaks volumes.

I say this as someone who supports the idea of the Israeli project. But if you’re going to actually have a state that manages its majority population to just one religion, you have to do everything to the highest degree of ethics. And thats not happening.

As with everything there there’s layers. Within the 1948 borders non Jewish citizens have equal rights. Outside the 1948 borders is a police state. However, the Israeli govt right wingers are claiming the West Bank and Gaza as part of Israel. So by their own definition Israel is an apartheid state.

I can only speak from my own exp but it was both crazy and awesome growing up then. Great music, cultural barriers began to break, did a lot on our own. But also nuclear war drills, AIDS crisis, decline/devaluing of working class, rise of modern Wall Street. And we’re small. So we’re pretty weird.
