Here’s a new oil painting on aluminum panel. Recently I’ve been experimenting with oil on aluminum and leaving since the metal showing through the paint to make the scene look more luminous. This is the substation at the abandoned Glenwood power plant, oil, 12” x 9”, 2025. #urbanpleinair

A bridge too far?! This painting of the University Heights Bridge almost killed me! I was cutting back the weeds and tripped, I came within inches of falling into the Harlem River! Luckily a cement ledge broke my fall. This oil painting is currently on view at 215 W 125 St, Harlem in a group show.

8” x 10” oil on aluminum panel of the rotary room, at the abandoned Glenwood Power Plant in Yonkers, NY. I’ve let the aluminum shine through the oil paint, which gives it an extra bit of light that I can’t get with paint alone. This oil is one of over 20 paintings in this series of the power plant.

An oil on a 6” x 9” aluminum panel from my series of paintings of the abandoned Glenwood Power Plant, Yonkers, NY. This is the interior of the rotary room. The floor was wet from a recent storm, so I left part of the aluminum showing through the paint to give it that shiny feel of water on cement.
