My husband and I treat TROS as anathema for now and may even still rate it as the worst SW movie after #TheHuntForBenSolo corrects its most egregious mistakes. We pretend it doesn’t exist. We don’t even speak of it by name. But still loving what we’d always loved most about SW makes our statement.

On that we agree. But here’s how we show the money grubbers at the top that we want #TheHuntForBenSolo besides hashtags. I buy what I can about Ben Solo. CEO types assess demand by seeing what property makes the most money.

And I deal by refusing to watch TROS, let alone accepting it’s the end.

Yes, I get it. But showing continued, unwavering interest in Ben Solo and Rey will prove we still want #TheHuntForBenSolo and won’t back down. Besides, Legacy of Vader might fix a problem that another film can’t fix - why Hux didn’t organize a coup against Kylo. Not getting enough support?

Also, most everyone was pro-TROS until TROS came out, and The Rise of Kylo Ren broke sales records. And Soule knows Ben remains the most popular new character, only alongside Rey.

That’s your anecdotal evidence. Meanwhile, I’m encountering more fans in the wild who’ve warmed up to Reylo & Bendemption and will openly admit Ben Solo should live. And it’s the people clamoring for #TheHuntForBenSolo who are buttering Soule’s bread.

I hope this means I’m not the only one praying for #TheHuntForBenSolo.

But here was the thing. Nobody expected Star Wars fans to read and enjoy every EU comic or book, watch all the made for TV shows (including the Holiday Special), and regard them all as film-tier canon. Liking all or most of the movies with a degree of passion was enough.
