Love mechanics like these. In other games, a door opening is inconsequential, but in Outlast is part of the horror experience.

Sometimes reinventing the wheel in video games means evolving simple mechanics to advanced.

This level of destruction is missing from a lot of AAA games. They focus instead of what I call "set dressing" environments. For some it works and it's fine. But I do wish we made games more interactive and reactive.
