Popped over to SpaceHey to check out discussion of an early 2000s indie musical project, and I loaded a Windows 3.1 Hot Dog Stand-themed group where the first account I saw had a profile picture with the text 'this man ate my son' below a photo of David Dixon's Ford Prefect.

The web isn't all bad.

My vacuum cleaner broke, so I got a new Next.js branded one which I can be certain will continue to suck for years to come.

One of my photographs has apparently been used in this AOL article about protecting your garden from frost.

I've obviously peaked. Things can only go downhill from here.

Over on @zeroheight.com's blog, I wrote about using some of the CSS' modern colour features that you can apply to your design systems.

This successfully strings together every half-baked bit of advice that I've heard hurled at people without due consideration into a cohesive and constructive list of principles that are valuable for any developer. Not just the 'do', but the 'why do?'

Great stuff @kilianvalkhof.com!
The majority of us are a bunch of self taught people with rather spotty knowledge and that's fine! Kilian (also self taught) is here to share some of the computer science fundamentals you probably are missing with the aim to improve your code in the long term.

Something I observed while manually reviewing every single site on personalsit.es:

Websites built with Next.js very rarely have RSS feeds.

Websites built with React sometimes have RSS feeds.

Completely static sites almost always have RSS feeds.

The chat platform Stoat already has a wordmark, but no logo. Here are some of the concept logo designs I put together.

This is very good. Practical examples of view transitions are importantly so people can see how to use them for real and how there’s no need to hand over all page management to a framework just to get a form field to move between subpages. Nice work @vale.rocks

A truly passionate article from someone who genuinely loves view transitions and knows exactly how to use them in a way that really supports the user experience, not just for the sake of the effect.
View transitions are pretty neat, and I was fortunate enough to write a piece for @piccalil.li about putting them to work.

They're such an exciting new part of the web platform, and I'm elated to see new and boundary-pushing effects making their way into production.

I've finally got around to including music in the library section of my site.

Unlike other sections, this merely collates my favourite albums rather than being a comprehensive compendium of my entire listening history.
