A group of influential Republican officials & staff make horrific racist remarks and praise the Nazis and the Vice President refuses to condemn them. I guess we still have a “race” problem. Would someone please warn the Supreme Court before they gut the Voting Rights Act? www.pbs.org/newshour/pol...

I join the women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. from around the world in mourning the passing of our beloved 25th National President, Dr. Paulette C. Walker. President Walker was a bold visionary who touched my life in so many ways.

Commissioner Mable Butler was a force to reckon with. When she saw a good fight, she did not run away. Sometimes, she started the fight. Orlando and Orange County are better off because of her unwavering commitment to making her community a better place for all people.

Let's not pretend we were born yesterday. President Trump has made it clear that he will enthusiastically endorse and materially support brutal, deadly political violence for his own benefit.

Today we pause to remember the 2977 loved ones killed on September 11, 2001. Let us honor their memory by standing strong as one, indivisible nation.

I enforced the laws for almost 30 years. Texas GOP lawmakers are a disgrace. They want to cheat to keep our criminal POTUS in power with no accountability and they're weaponizing law enforcement to do it. No decent person should accept this.

We will truly miss the giant of a man from New York. Charlie Rangel was a leader who also understood that public office was about fighting for the people. A founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus, thank you for leaving a road map for generations to come. Rest in Peace, Mr. Chairman.

Representative Gerry Connolly was a good man. He was super-smart, strategic, and never forgot what’s right. Gerry was a mentor to me during my time on the Oversight and Government Accountability Committee. He will be missed. Praying for his family and friends.

Someone sent this to me. We all need a little encouragement. And now it am sharing it with my sisters who are still standing, despite opposition, and fighting the good fight despite challenge and controversy. Many are called but few are chosen.

Tonight we pause for the 37th Candlelight Vigil. Tonight we add 345 names to the memorial wall. Tonight we remember 345 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. No words can describe the loss but we honor them by never forgetting the lives they lived. The Lord is our strength and shield.

What a joy for Jerry and me to wish Mable Butler, the first Black woman to serve on the Orlando City Council and Orange County Commission, a Happy 98th Birthday. Make no mistake, she made a difference then and is still making a difference now in our community. Feeling blessed.

I am truly grateful for the men in my life. Thank you Jerry and sons for sending me flowers while I can enjoy them and you. Feeling blessed on this BEAUTIFUL Mother’s Day. Happy Mother’s Day to Mothers around the world.❤️

The American people are rejecting the lawlessness, chaos, and foolishness of this administration.

We do not have to settle for chaos, lawlessness, and plain old foolishness.

I graduated from FSU, did college work study with their PD, was just on campus a week ago. Florida is working to erase meaningful legislation passed after Parkland. How long will we fail to protect our students? My heart goes out to the victims, families, law enforcement, and the Noles.

Thank you Mr. Jackie Robinson for your extraordinary service to Major League Baseball and the nation as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Small people may remove your photo but they can never remove your excellence. They will never become what you have been. Extraordinary. We honor you today. 42.

As a former member of the Intelligence and Homeland Security committees, the thought of these people sharing strategic military operations, on signal is shocking. All we have heard since this inexcusable security breach is a shameless mountain of lies.

President Trump’s two-day tariff cost us badly. As POTUS tries to alienate us from our allies to satisfy Putin, there is more pain at home. Trump and Musk will go after social security to free up dollars for tax breaks for their rich friends. Watch closely.

An American President, with the blessing of all of those in the room, attacking a U.S. ally who is war weary after 3 years of Putin’s war crimes, is not a show of strength at all. America could not have looked weaker than it did on Friday.

Measles Cases in the United States between 1962-2023

This is what happens when we use research, science, and common sense. America can do great things when we use all three. Let’s protect our children and our neighbor’s children.
