I read this earlier in the year based on your post, and it was astonishingly good. My favourite thing, a book that lingers. I have since recommended it to another person who loved it as well.

Certainly no great loss there, although, apart from being jarring, it was also illuminating to see a topic like that referred to as a wholesome and promising scientific discipline. Gives you a taste of how popular these ideas used to be (same with Charlotte Perkins Gilman).

I'm actually impressed: a Daddy-Long-Legs cover that adequately (if inadvertently) addresses the predatory plotline! And not a bad match for the cutesy pro-eugenics stuff in Dear Enemy, either.
