When Erdoğan arrested the opposition mayor, Ekrem İmamoğlu, from trumped up charges, he had expected the public to be indifferent. But the contrary happened. Millions of people have been pouring into to the streets and protests continue.

As Erdoğan decided to arrest Imamoğlu, he probably hadn’t expected millions in Turkey to take to the streets to protest. Protests have been raging almost all over the country and it remains to be seen whether he’ll be able to contain public anger.

Without significant uptick in foreign and military aid from Europe and Canada to Ukraine, how long can Kiev hold out against Russian aggression in the absence of American aid?
