очень его люблю, опенсорсное и легко позволяет настраивать работу везде, где нужно, ещё музыку через него скачиваю на телефон

thanks for reading! reblog if you liked the thread, and tell about Aucards to someone, who, you think, might benefit from the app ❤️

I would actually make it for iOS too, but I don't own an iPhone or a Mac, and Apple doesn't allow to write software not on their certified devices 🤪
so if I'm ever rich, I will certainly do that! until then, the code is open source, feel free to fork and port it :)

publishing Aucards to Google Play was a different story full of unexpected twists, but here it is, alive and well:

this is my first app, and it was a journey to learn how to code and architect software
but Kotlin is a very fun and interesting language, and Jetpack Compose is fantastic at creating simple, but robust UI

I open sourced the code for the app because it's more fun this way, and many people have already helped me develop it, fixing bugs or adding features, and thanks to them Aucards supports 7 (!) languages

the demand for Aucards and overwhelmingly positive response caught me by surprise; I've received comments like "I've been looking for such an app my whole life!", and I also don't know why it hasn't been made before! but I'm so glad it helps someone

I made sure to make the cards as customizable as possible: you can choose any color as a background, change the size and layout of the text, and just recently I've added an option to add images!

I thought that such an app could be in demand: not everyone can or want to use strictly physical cards, and I was right: many have already told me that people with ASD, elderly people with special needs or just non-verbal people find it useful

I got the idea for this app from my ex-girlfriend with ASD, who told me about the concept of "autistic cards", which neurodivergent people use when having troubles with communication due to overwhelming sensory input
