My best friends kid is a 10 year old trans girl running competitive cross country against girls. I support it completely. I got two daughters playing soccer, no trans girl has ever caused any problem for them. It’s still counterproductive to demand purity on the issue from Dem politicians currently

People’s rights are determined by power and it’s dumb for the Dem base to keep repudiating the need for power with purity tests or absolutist demands (note, you’re not dumb, you’re very smart imho)

Kat your article reinforces what I’m proposing is the way. Take the wins as they come and move toward further progress from a position of strategic strength.
Civil rights legislation was indeed popular in 1964 (see above) even if every element of the movement wasn’t. The current absolutism sucks.

Maybe so, I can’t say otherwise. What I can say is public opinion is squarely against the trans/sports issue and squarely in favor of trans civil rights generally (eg, employment, school, etc). So likely a better play is to take the win, gain back some power and revisit the sports thing later
